Spirit Pictures haben die Filmrechte am Buch „Kong: King of Skull Island“ gekauft und wollen daraus einen Motion-Capturing-Film a la Beowulf machen. Die Story ist ein Prequel zum Klassiker und verfolgt die Geschichte von Kong, während er zum King auf seiner Insel wird.
Spirit Pictures is looking to breathe new life into King Kong and a project initially developed by effects legend Ray Harryhausen.
Producers at the shingle have picked up the rights to the book “Kong: King of Skull Island,” a prequel to the well-known tale of the big ape.
Penned by Joe DeVito and Brad Strickland, book focuses on the backstory of Skull Island and how the giant gorilla became king there. It introduces other giant gorillas and dinosaurs only hinted at in the previous films.
The book was published at the same time Peter Jackson was producing his remake of “King Kong.”

Hihahaha, Stefan hat absolut recht. Vor allem sieht das Plakat aus, als wollte man alle möglichen Filme der 20er und 30er Jahre zusammenkochen. Da haben wir x-beliebige Saurierfilme, x-beliebige Ägypten-Mumien-Kleopatra-Filme, x-beliebige Piratenfilme und mittendrin unseren sattsam bekannten und deshalb in keinster Weise mehr als Zugpferd brauchbaren Riesenaffen. Allein um der Verrisse wegen hoffe ich, dass der ins Kino kommt.

Ich mag die Idee, würde den Film aber lieber in der Machart von Jacksons Kong sehen wollen. Mit schönen Weta-Miniaturen und so.

Lieber das als noch irgendein Film von Harry Potter!!!!!!
Aber das Bild hier sieht schonmal sehr billig aus. Ich hoffe mal, das genügend Geld da ist, etwas qualitativ hochwertigeres zu erstellen.
Und Storytechnisch – solange Dinos und Riesengorillas sich durch eine antike Zivilisation prügeln und ein paar Leute dabei platt machen – klar, warum nicht.
Immer noch 1 Bierdeckel mehr Handlung als TF2.

… hmm die Idee gefällt mir – könnte gut werden… Beowulf war ja vom visuellen her zumindest recht ansehnlich.
… pff – also ich will schon wissen wie Kong der King auf seiner Insel wurde. ^_^
