Auf diesem Film steht in ganz großen und goldenen Lettern „Sicherer Oscar-Kandidat“. Morgan Freeman spielt Nelson Mandela, der mit Rugby Südafrka einen will, Snip:

From director Clint Eastwood, ‘Invictus’ tells the inspiring true story of how Nelson Mandela (Morgan Freeman) joined forces with the captain of South Africas rugby team, Francois Pienaar (Matt Damon), to help unite their country. Newly elected President Mandela knows his nation remains racially and economically divided in the wake of apartheid. Believing he can bring his people together through the universal language of sport, Mandela rallies South Africas underdog rugby team as they make an unlikely run to the 1995 World Cup Championship match.

Der Titel „Invictus“ ist auch der Titel eines Gedichts, aus dem Mandela im Knast der Erzählung nach Kraft schöpfte, nach dem Klick.

    Als Rugbyfan freue ich mich auf den Film. Was mich schon mal an dem Trailer erfreut ist der durchgängige Afrikaans-Akzent, der irgendwie überzeugend klingt.

    Schönes Gedicht! …. und ein schöner Trailer… der Lust auf meeeeeehr macht – aber warum schreien da immer gleich alle nach einem Oskar?

    …und kaum ist es Juli 2011…hab ich den Film auch schon gesehen.Grade eben…
    Eastwood kann.Wichtig ist aber sich vom good feel abholen zu lassen…sich also drauf einlassen auf die doch subjektiv-positiv erzählte Geschichte.Deutsche Synchro hat auch gut funktioniert. Rassenkonflikt – als phänomenologisches Setting ( gab’s/gibt’s ja nicht nur in Südafrika # ( )….und mit was für einer Leichtigkeit und Herzlichkeit dieser aufgelöst wird – wenn man Invictus als ein “so könnte es doch klappen” Angebot versteht,hat das Substanz – und man verzeiht dem Film seinen liebevollen, dramaturgischen Kuschelkurs(plus der musikalischen Schwebebahn – an der einen oder anderen Stelle).Im Gegenteil – könnte durchaus gewollt sein.Clint” the man” ist ja auch schon etwas reifer…genug des bla. Gutes,solides(amerikanisches) Kino würde ich sagen und – wer ihn auch noch nicht gesehen hat….ansehen und staunen wie ein Kind.
