Joe Dante erzählt auf seiner genialen Website „Trailers from Hell“ (von der es demnächst eine Best-Of-DVD geben wird) über „Abbott and Costello meet the Mummy“.

Bud and Lou meet their last monster in this well-worn but still amusing finale to their long stint at Universal. The frequently at-odds duo were to break up for good a year later after their last pairing, a lamentable indie project titled after a pop song, Dance with Me Henry.

Es gibt ja nichts besseres, als einen Sonntag auf der Couch zu vergammeln und sich dabei olle Filme anzusehen, alle Frankensteins hintereinander weg, alle Sherlock Holmes mit Basil Rathbone (naja, alle sind an einem Tag nicht zu schaffen, aber einige) oder eben die Abbott und Costello-Sammlung, die ich mir neulich besorgt habe. A&C meet Frankenstein, The Mummy, The Killer, The Invisible Man, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde und Go To Mars. Ich liebe es.
