Kaum gewinnt David Finchers durchaus interessant erscheinender Facebook-Film „The Social Network“ ein bisschen an Momentum, kommen die Ripoffs. Jetzt hat man sich die Rechte an Ken Aulettas Buch „Googled: The End of the World As We Know It“ gesichert und will die Geschichte um die mit den Google-Doodles verfilmen. Und die Geschichte liest sich so kurzweilig, wie Geschirrspülen am Sonntagmittag.
Producer Michael London explained to Deadline: “It’s about these two young guys who created a company that changed the world, and how the world in turn changed them. The heart of the movie is their wonderful edict, don’t be evil. At a certain point in the evolution of a company so big and powerful, there are a million challenges to that mandate. Can you stay true to principles like that as you become as rich and powerful as that company has become? The intention is to be sympathetic to Sergey and Larry, and hopefully the film will be as interesting as the company they created.”

Muss man schauen, was dabei rumkommt, die Produzenten sind ja sozusagen auf solche Filme spezialisiert (Milk, The Informant) und kriegen sowas ja meist ganz gut hin. Die Prämisse ist nicht sehr ansprechend, das stimmt, aber ein gutes Team kann da noch was rausreissen. Bei Social Network habe ich auch zuerst gelacht, aber das scheint ja auch ganz brauchbar zu werden.

Glaubt ihr nicht, dass der Film ein Flop wird? Die Geschichte ist doch schon überall bekannt, also wird es keine besondere Neuigkeiten dazu geben, oder? Ich lass die anderen einmal den Film sehen, dann werden wir sehen. Wann kommt der überhaupt heraus?
