Hier der Trailer zu Burke & Hare von John Landis mit Simon Pegg und Andy Serkis in den Hauptrollen, sieht mir nach einer gelungenen Killerkomödie aus. Hier der Plot:
WILLIAM BURKE and WILLIAM HARE are scratching out a living in 1830s Edinburgh. After yet another failed business venture, they return to Hare’s lodging house to find that their tenant has suddenly died on rent day. As the boys decide how to dispose of the body over a drink, they discover that a corpse can fetch a hefty price. Edinburgh is the centre of the medical universe and the city’s doctors are crying out for more cadavers for their educational lectures. First they try the infamous DR. MONRO, but he’s not interested, so they sell the corpse to DR. KNOX, his vain and ambitious rival who urges them to bring any more ‘unfortunates’ they may stumble upon. Entrepreneurial Hare is quick to realize they’ve hit on a great money making venture and despite the more sensitive Burke’s misgivings, they embark on a series of plans to secure more bodies. They arrange a series of deadly ‘accidents’ for the local unfortunates and to celebrate their success, they go out on the town to celebrate. There, Burke meets GINNY, a beautiful and spirited aspiring actress. In a series of hilarious comic misadventures Burke and Hare begin to secure a steady stream of bodies and the cash starts rolling in.
Also, ich habe noch nicht mal eine Meinung über den Film selbst, aber der TRAILER, so wie er ist, ist fürchterlich.
Eigentlich hat nurnoch das “Schallplattennagel springt” Geräusch und ein Tritt in die Weichteile von jemanden gefehlt.
Also so kann man mir keinen Film verkaufen.

Hier muss ich schnell zur Ehrenrettung von John Landis eilen: Year One, dieses peinliche Filmdesaster, hat Harold Ramis verbrochen. Das macht den Trailer da oben jetzt nicht besser, kann in Sachen Grabräuber/Komödie auch eher den herrlich atmosphärischen “I Sell The Dead” empfehlen.
Year Zero? Kenn ich nicht. Kenne nur Year One .. eine im besten Falle eine mittelprächtige Komödie – und der war von Harold Ramis.
Aber John Landis hat Filme verbrochen wie: Der Prinz aus Zamunda, American Werewolf, Drei Amigos, Die Glücksritter, Kentucky Fried Movie & Blues Brothers. Nicht zu vergessen: das legendäre Thriller Video.
Ich würde ihm einen neuen Erfolg gönnen –
wenn der Film die Qualität der o.g. Filme hält.

Nachdem I Sell the Dead die Burke & Hare-Story schon sehr gelungen erzählt hat, bin ich angesichts des obigen Trailers mehr als skeptisch. Sieht bislang eher nach üblem Klamauk aus, auch wenn ich Pegg und Serkis wirklich gern mag.
Oh, da hat mich meine Erinnerung im Stich gelassen (2x!!!).
Spione wie wir ist auch von Landis, leider auch Blues Brothers 2000 (aber da geb ich Akroyd die Schuld für).

Den Streifen schau ich mir auch nur wegen Pegg und Serkis an. Kommt ja nicht oft vor, dass Serkis als Mensch auftritt :)
