Brian Azzarello Comic „100 Bullets“ wird von Showtime als Serie verfilmt. Produzieren und schreiben wird die Serie David S. Goyer der sich mit Blade und Batman Begins im Comic-Bereich bereits einen Namen machte. Ich habe bei Showtime keine allzu großen Bedenken wegen der expliziten Gewaltdarstellungen im Comic und hoffe einfach mal auf eine angemessene Umsetzung des Crime Noir/Conspiracy-Stoffes.

While lauded as one of the best comic books/graphic novels of the past decade 100 Bullets is an atypical comic as it features no superheroes, magic, supernatural elements or a sci-fi twist. It is a dark, noir-style story about the attempt by one man, the mysterious Agent Graves, to destroy a secret group of families that control most of the world’s wealth and power, and it also poses a classic moral question, “If you could get away with murdering the person who ruined your life, would you do it?”

The book’s starting-off point is Graves giving ordinary people who have been wronged a pistol and a briefcase with 100 untracable bullets, offering them to exact justice for themselves with no danger of being caught. The self-contained storylines eventually blend into a sprawling crime saga where everything — and everyone — is connected as Graves takes on a multinational clandestine organization named The Trust. Among 100 Bullets’ distinguishing traits is Azzarello’s realistic use of regional dialects and accents, as well as the frequent use of slang.

  1. Seit Jahren wünsche ich mir das das eintritt. 100B hat mich 10 Jahre meines Lebens begleitet und stellt in Wort und Bild so ziemlich alles andere in Graphic Novel Form in den Schatten.
    Aber warum müssen die ausgerechnet David Goyer anheuern? Warum nicht jemanden mit Talent?
    Bleibe dennoch optimistisch.

    Welch fantastische Idee! Der Stoff ist geradezu prädestiniert, eine Serie zu werden. Jetzt darf herrlich spekuliert werden, wer Agent Graves spielen wird o_O

  3. Ach, und Pingo: WTF, sag nur, dir haben Nolans zwei Batmans nicht gefallen?!? Comooooooooon das waren Meilensteine der Filmgeschichte! da hatte Goyer (mit Nolans Bruder zusammen versteht sich) einen grossen Anzeil daran.

    Nolans Batman hat mir sehr gut gefallen. Was mir aber nur zeigt das Goyer in Zusammenarbeit mit anderen gut ist. Seine eigenen Machwerke sind alle völligst inakzeptabel.
    Hoffe das die ihm noch einen fähigen Autoren an die Seite stellen.
