Die Nachricht paralysierte mich gestern ein kleines bisschen: Die Gerüchteküche brodelt siedendheiß um einen Yoda Film, den es neben den drei weiteren Teilen geben wird. Bestätigt wurde ein Yoda Spinoff zwar nicht, dafür aber, dass wir uns definitiv auf Spinoffs gefasst machen können:
One of the standalone films will be written by Lawrence Kasdan, screenwriter of The Empire Strikes Back, Raiders of the Lost Ark, and co-writer of Return of the Jedi while the other will be penned by Simon Kinberg, writer of Sherlock Holmes and Mr. and Mrs. Smith. The movies will be separate from the upcoming Episodes VII, VIII, and IX, on which Kasdan and Kinberg are also consulting, and are expected to be released sometime after Episode VII. Each standalone film will focus on a specific character, and two spinoff films are currently confirmed.

Diese Spinoffs sind zwar nicht Teil der Saga, spielen aber in der Star Wars Welt. Können wir uns vielleicht auf die frühen Abenteuer von Jar Jar Binks freuen, mit Jim Carrey und Robin Williams als seine Eltern? Oder wie wäre es mit einer romantischen Musical Komödie über den jungen Chewbacca? Dann hätte man auch gleich eine Fortsetzung zu “Hair” im Sack!
Nebenbei denkt der Sender ABC übrigens sehr laut über eine Star Wars TV Show nach. ABC Entertainment Präsident Paul Lee sagt dazu:
“We’d love to do something with Lucasfilm, we’re not sure what yet,” Lee exclusively told EW. “We haven’t even sat down with them. We’re going to look at [the live-action series], we’re going to look at all of them, and see what’s right. We weren’t able to discuss this with them until [the acquisition] closed and it just closed. It’s definitely going to be part of the conversation.”
