Loveless, jobless and possibly terminally ill, Frank has had enough of the downward spiral of America. With nothing left to lose, Frank takes his gun and decides to off the stupidest, cruelest and most repellent members of society with an unusual accomplice: 16-year-old Roxy, who shares his sense of rage and disenfranchisement. From stand-up comedian and director Bobcat Goldthwait comes a scathing and hilarious attack on all that is sacred in the United States of America.

THE HUNTER is the story of Martin, a skilled and ruthless mercenary sent into the Tasmanian wilderness on a hunt for a tiger believed to be extinct. Hired by an anonymous company that wants the tiger’s genetic material, Martin arrives in Tasmania posing as a scientist. He proceeds to set up base camp at a broken-down farmhouse, where he stays with a family whose father has gone missing. Usually a loner, Martin becomes increasingly close to the family; however, as his attachment to the family grows, Martin is led down a path of unforeseen dangers, complicating his deadly mission.

An evil queen steals control of a kingdom and an exiled princess enlists the help of seven resourceful rebels to win back her birthright in a spirited adventure comedy filled with jealousy, romance and betrayal that will capture the imagination of audiences the world over.

Visionary director Tarsem Singh (Immortals) rewrites fairy tale history as a wicked enchantress (Roberts) schemes and scrambles for control of a spirited orphan’s (Collins) throne and the attention of a charming prince (Hammer). When Snow White’s beauty wins the heart of the prince that she desperately pursues, the Queen banishes her to the forest, where a ravening man-eating beast hungrily awaits.

Rescued by a band of diminutive highway robbers, Snow White grows into an indomitable young woman determined to take back her realm from the treacherous Queen. With the support of her subjects, she roars into action in an epic battle that blends spectacle, magic and contemporary humor in Singh’s signature, jaw-dropping visual style.

Hier der Trailer zu Lockout, produziert von Luc Besson, inszeniert von Stephen Saint Leger und James Mather. Snake Plissken in Space ohne Augenklappe. Hier der Plot: „A man wrongly convicted of conspiracy to commit espionage against the U.S. is offered his freedom if he can rescue the president’s daughter from an outer space prison taken over by violent inmates.“

Immerhin.

Members of Monty Python’s Flying Circus are reteaming for “Absolutely Anything,” a sci-fi farce combining CGI and live action, with Terry Jones to direct and Mike Medavoy to produce.
Plans are for filming to begin in the U.K. this spring, with the Pythons voicing key roles as a a group of aliens who endow an earthling with the power to do “absolutely anything” to see what a mess he’ll make of things — which is precisely what happens. There’s also a talking dog named Dennis who seems to understand more about the mayhem that ensues than anyone else does. Robin Williams will voice the character.

“It’s not a Monty Python picture, but it certainly has that sensibility,” Jones told Variety.

“Anything” is based on a script developed by Jones and Gavin Scott over the past two decades. Medavoy, a producer on the Pythons’ “Life of Brian,” is producing along with David Thwaites and Chris Chesser, in conjunction with U.K. partners Bill and Ben Prods.

Hier dier Plot:

In “The Grey,” Liam Neeson leads an unruly group of oil-rig roughnecks when their plane crashes into the remote Alaskan wilderness. Battling mortal injuries and merciless weather, the survivors have only a few days to escape the icy elements — and a vicious pack of rogue wolves on the hunt — before their time runs out.

Toll!

Secret Cinema brought to life Carol Reed’s ‘The Third Man’ at the Farmiloe Building in the secret streets and alleyways of Clerkenwell, London, through to the backstreets of Kabul, Afghanistan.

Over 19,000 of you travelled to Vienna becoming part of Harry Lime’s Rogue racket, Major Calloway’s investigation patrols and Crabbin’s British Cultural Office. A photographer from the Vienna Times documented the happenings here and a filmmaker from Future Shorts London Productions made this film.

Netter Trailer zu Keanu Reeves Doku „Side by Side – The Science, Art and Impact of Digital Cinema“ über die Zukunft der Filmproduktion. Für den Film hat Reeves offensichtlich gehörig seine Beziehungen spielen lassen, es wirken unter anderem mit: Steven Soderbergh, James Cameron, David Lynch, Richard Linklater, Martin Scorsese, Lana Wachowski, Andy Wachowski, Christopher Nolan, David Fincher, George Lucas, Robert Rodriguez, Michael Ballhaus, Lars von Trier, John Malkovich, Danny Boyle, Joel Schumacher und Barry Levinson.

Movies were shot, edited and projected using photochemical film. But over the last two decades a digital process has emerged to challenge photochemical filmmaking.

SIDE BY SIDE, a new documentary produced by Keanu Reeves, takes an in-depth look at this revolution. Through interviews with directors, cinematographers, film students, producers, technologies, editors, and exhibitors, SIDE BY SIDE examines all aspects of filmmaking — from capture to edit, visual effects to color correction, distribution to archive. At this moment when digital and photochemical filmmaking coexist, SIDE BY SIDE explores what has been gained, what is lost, and what the future might bring.

Schöner Trailer zu „Jeff, Who Lives At Home“ mit Jason Segel. Hier der Plot: „On his way to the store to buy wood glue, Jeff looks for signs from the universe to determine his path. However, a series of comedic and unexpected events leads him to cross paths with his family in the strangest of locations and circumstances. Jeff just may find the meaning of his life… and if he’s lucky, pick up the wood glue as well.“

Leider finde ich kein Wort zu meinem Lieblings-Hammer „The Curse of the Werewolf“. Abwarten.

Dracula Prince of Darkness is the first title scheduled for release in the global restoration project and will be released in the UK in conjunction with STUDIOCANAL in March 2012. The partnership continues throughout the spring for the releases of The Reptile and The Plague of The Zombies, and will also include The Devil Rides Out, Rasputin the Mad Monk and The Mummy’s Shroud during the course of the year.

Hammer will also release definitive versions of its three hugely-influential original Gothic classics in the UK: The Curse of Frankenstein, Dracula and The Mummy.

As well as featuring a fully-restored HD picture and restored sound, the remastered films will boast a host of newly-filmed extras, including interviews with cast members. These documentary extras are being produced by Hammer expert and historian, Marcus Hearn – author of the recent “The Hammer Vault”.

Pinewood Studios carried out the restoration of the first three STUDIOCANAL titles after housing the original negatives for the films, restoring the original UK title sequence to The Plague of The Zombies as well as the UK title cards to Dracula Prince of Darkness.

Whoa!

Pablo blends documentary and animation elements to tell the saga of “famous unknown” Pablo Ferro, a man with a personal journey that spans from Havana, during the pre-Cuban revolution to his current home, in the garage behind his son’s house.

The animation part of the film takes us through the dream-scape of Pablo’s memories, while the documentary footage chronicles a very eccentric lifestyle of a 72 year old artist, once hailed by Stanley Kubrick as the father of the sixties look and the MTV aesthetics.

Restauriert werden im Laufe des Jahres: All Quiet on the Western Front, The Birds, Buck Privates, Dracula (1931), Dracula Spanish (1931), Frankenstein, Jaws, Schindler’s List, Out of Africa, Pillow Talk, Bride of Frankenstein, The Sting und To Kill a Mockingbird.

Legend has it that Carl Laemmle named the company after seeing a “Universal Pipe Fittings” truck pass by his New York office window. Though our name may have been inspired by a whim, today Universal is considered a pioneer in cinematic history. Our logo symbolizes the films we’ve created which have not only impacted millions, but also helped tell the story of filmmaking.

The Universal logo has gone on to change over the years since 1912. From the silent logo of UNIVERSAL FILMS encircling the globe…to the ‘droning propeller plane circling the globe’ that marked the arrival of sound…and finally, to today’s more modern and vivid Universe—the Universal logo has reflected the evolution of film.
