Years in the making, Matt Busch is proud to unveil the illustrated Indiana Jones World Map! Perfect timing, being the 30th Anniverary of Indiana Jones this year. Authorized through Lucasfilm, this print is funded by the Adirondack Comicfest and all proceeds from the sale of this print go to American Disabled Veterans.

The map shows all of the locations that Indiana Jones has made archeological discoveries- not just the movies- the novels, the comic books, the Young Indy TV shows, the video games, and more.

There are 36 different archeological artifacts displayed, each illustrated where Indy discovered it, and numbered chronologically. 3 Legend sections list info on the artifacts, including name, city and country, year, title of the story the artifact was discovered in, followed by symbols. The Key chart lets you decipher those symbols for each artifact to see how the story was presented, be it film, novel, TV Episode, etc… In many cases, these stories have been delivered in multiple platforms. In other words, “Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis” was at first designed as a video game, but later developed as a comic book, too…

Dass ein fünfter Teil zur Indy-Saga kommen würde, war ja klar. Nun haben sich George Lucas, Steven Spielberg und Harrison Ford auf eine Idee geeinigt und Lucas wird sich nun in seine Skywalkerhütte zurückziehen und das Drehbuch schreiben. Da der gute Schorsch noch an ein paar anderen Projekten arbeitet, dürften wir nicht allzu schnell etwas neues vom Schlapphutträger hören, aber das hier sagte Harrison Ford der BBC: „Steven [Spielberg] and George [Lucas] and I are sort of agreed on a germ of an idea and we’re seeing what comes of it.“

Vor einer Weile bloggte ich auf Nerdcore über ein Ghostbusters-Trailer-Mashup aus 50er-Filmen inkl. Jerry Lewis, Bob Hope und Dean Martin, der Macher des Trailers hat jetzt nachgelegt und Raiders of the lost Ark und Forrest Gump aus alten Filmen zusammengeschnibbelt.

Forrest Gump was directed by Frank Capra instead of Robert Zemeckis?

In an alternate reality version of the year 1949 (not 1994), it actually did happen. Starring Jimmy Stewart, in the lovable title role, Forrest Gump is the story of how a simple man from Greenbow, Alabama changes the course of history and the world around him.

Shia LaBeouf hat in einem Interview verraten, dass Spielberg bereits an der Story einem fünften Teil der Peitschenschwinger-Saga bastelt. Gerüchte um einen Indy 5 schwirren schon seit Indy 4 durchs Netz, das hier ist das erste offizielle Statement, dass daran tatsächlich gearbeitet wird, Lucas und Spielberg hatten bislang immer nur ein „Wenn wir eine gute Story haben“ von sich gegeben. Ach ja, und nach dem letzten Teil muss man wohl noch hinzufügen: Meh.

Newsround presenter Lizo Mzimba squeezed Shia LaBeouf for some details on his upcoming projects and according to the sometime Jones Jr., Steven Spielberg has “cracked” the story for the next movie and is “gearing that up”.

Mystery Man on Film hat ein 125seitiges PDF mit dem Transkript einer Story-Konferenz mit George Lucas, Steven Spielberg und Lawrence Kasdan, auf der sie Details zu einem Film besprechen, dessen Hauptfigur „Indiana Smith“ heissen soll. Arbeitstitel des Films: „ Raiders of the Lost Ark“. Ein wunderbares Stück Filmgeschichte, sollten die das PDF runternehmen müssen, ich habe hier eine lokale Kopie.

George Lucas – The other thing we’ve added to him, which may be fun, is a bull whip. That’s really his trade mark. That’s really what he’s good at. He has a pistol, and he’s probably very good at that, but at the same time he happens to be very good with a bull whip. It’s really more of a hobby than anything else. Maybe he came from Montana, someplace, and he… There are freaks who love bull whips. They just do it all the time. It’s a device that hasn’t been used in a long time.

Steven Spielberg — At some point in the movie he must use it to get a girl back who’s walking out of the room. Wrap her up and she twirls as he pulls her back. She spins into his arms. You have to use it for more things than just saving himself.

Harrison Ford hat in einem Interview bestätigt, dass George Lucas an einem fünften Teil mit dem Peitschenschwinger arbeitet. Er sei in einem „Thinking Mode“. Ich hoffe, in diesem Denkmodus bleibt er für alle Zeiten und erzeugt dabei eine Endlosschleife. 10 Print „Don’t do it, George.“ 20 Goto 10.

Harrison Ford said Friday that momentum is building for a fifth movie in the “Indiana Jones” franchise and that George Lucas is already cooking up a suitable plot for a heroic senior citizen with a penchant for whips and fedoras.

“It’s crazy but great,” the 66-year-old Ford said. “George is in think mode right now.”

George Lucas hat mit der Sunday Times über einen möglichen weiteren Teil zu Indiana Jones und über die Gründe, warum der letzte so suboptimal war („Spielberg war’s!“ sagt Lucas. „Lucas, Du Arschloch“ sag ich), gesprochen.

“If I can come up with another idea that they like, we’ll do another. Really, with the last one, Steven wasn’t that enthusiastic. I was trying to persuade him. But now Steve is more amenable to doing another one. Yet we still have the issues about the direction we’d like to take. I’m in the future; Steven’s in the past. He’s trying to drag it back to the way they were, I’m trying to push it to a whole different place. So, still we have a sort of tension. This recent one came out of that. It’s kind of a hybrid of our own two ideas, so we’ll see where we are able to take the next one.” (Coming Soon)

Das ganze hört sich für mich nach einem definitiven fünften Teil an, obwohl ich hoffe, dass die Idee an Spielbergs und Lucas’ Differenzen zerbricht. Alleine der Satz „I’m trying to push it to a whole different place“ zeigt, wie sehr Lucas die Ideen und Grundzüge seiner Filme (sicherlich nicht mutwillig, aber doch:) zerstören will. „I’m trying to push it to a whole different place“ hat uns Filme wie „Jaxon X“ gebracht, in dem Jason Vorhees durch eine Raumstation latscht.

Das hört sich auf dem Papier natürlich erstmal cool an, genauso, wie wenn Indiana Jones in einem Kühlschrank the Fridge nuked oder eben die Macht das Ergebnis irgendwelcher Medichloreaner (oder wie man die schreibt) ist. Genauso kopfschüttelnd sitze ich mittlerweile vor den Ideen, einen wie Rambo auf eine Raumstation zu schicken. Solche Ideen werden geboren aus purem Fandom und ich kann es nachvollziehen, dass sich ware Nerds und Fans gerne ausmalen, wie es wäre, wenn Jason oder Rambo in Space aussehen würden. Das Ergebnis hat allerdings (bis jetzt) noch jede ikonographische Filmfigur demontiert und der Lächerlichkeit preisgegeben.

Allen Leuten, die immer behaupten, die Menschen sollten doch bitte bei gewissen Filmen im Kino einfach mal den Kopf ausschalten, sei dieses Review bei Telepolis an denselben auf Lebenszeit festgetackert.

“Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” ist ein Film ohne echte Überraschungen und daher enttäuschend – und nach all der Erwartungsfreude ist die Tatsache dann doch etwas zu wenig, dass sich Spielberg hier seinen persönlichen Kindergeburtstag gegönnt hat.

Der Irrtum all derjenigen, die es hier nun ablehnen nachzudenken – womit sie nur verraten, dass sie am liebsten überall darauf verzichten würden -, ist, dass man ihrer Ansicht nach über dumme Dinge nicht nachdenken kann oder dass Unterhaltung mit Nachdenken nichts zu tun hätte. “Nachdenken schadet nur”, behaupten manche. Aber wobei eigentlich? Wenn der Film gut ist, ist er gut. Nachdenken schadet nur, wenn man beim Nachdenken darauf kommt, wie blödsinnig er im Grunde ist. Aber zumindest darüber, dass Spielberg viel nachgedacht hat, wird man sich doch wohl einigen können, oder? Sollte man dann nicht auch über Spielbergs Gedanken nachdenken? Es ist ein Irrtum anzunehmen, dass nur das, was den Verstand beleidigt, unterhalten kann, dass etwas, um unterhalten zu können, auch wirr und grob sein muss.

Warum behandelt man seinen Geist so, wie man den eigenen Körper niemals behandeln würde? Wer ernährt sich eigentlich nur von McDonald’s? Wer glaubt, dass McDonalds gesund ist? Ab und zu trotzdem mal zu McDonald’s gehen, macht jeder. Aber muss man deswegen behaupten, es sei gesund? In einer Filmkritik geht es nur darum, zu benennen, um was für eine Art Film es sich handelt.

Wer dann gegen Intellektuelle schimpft, die einem den Spaß rauben, den darf man erinnern, dass Indiana Jones selbst ein Intellektueller ist, der in diesem Fall von McCarthy wegen Nonkonformismus vertrieben wird. Und was er in der Maya-Pyramide sucht, ist Wissen, nicht Entertainment.

Der neue Indiana Jones ist noch gar nicht in den Kinos, da streut George Lucas in Cannes schonmal Gerüchte über kommende Peitschenschwingerfilme – mit Shia LaBeouf als Hauptfigur. Und nach den Reinfällen mit den neuen Star Wars-Filmen kann ich nur sagen: I’m not amused.

George Lucas tells me it’s more than a strong possibility there will be a fifth “Indiana Jones.” He says that he and director Steven Spielberg have left the door open for a sequel to “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.”

Lucas had a lot to say about the new “Indy” and its future.

“I haven’t even told Steven or Harrison this,” he said. “But I have an idea to make Shia [LeBeouf] the lead character next time and have Harrison [Ford] come back like Sean Connery did in the last movie. I can see it working out.

Kurz nach Erscheinen des dritten The Dark Knight Trailers, präsentieren wir euch nun die brandaktuelle Vorschau auf Opa Indys viertes Abenteuer. Trotz zahlreicher neuer Bilder und genauerer Storypräsentation, bin ich mir nicht sicher ob Indiana Jones und das Königreich des Kristallschädels an die Erfolge der vergangenen Filme anknüpfen kann. Dennoch freu ich mich auf den Film, der in Kürze in die Kinos kommt.

Entweder, Georgie hat aus den Feedbacks zu den neuen Star Wars-Filmen gelernt und sagt lieber schonmal gleich, dass der neue Indiana Jones nicht den Erwartungen entsprechen dürfte, oder aber der Film wird wirklich doof. Was ich nach dem Trailer aber eigentlich nicht wirklich glauben kann. Oder hoffen, je nach dem.

We know that for the fans it won’t be the movie that they have been making in their minds for the last 19 years, so they all get bent out of shape.

It’s funny. I think it’s funnier than the other ones, and it’s exciting. So it’s got all the stuff that all the other ones have. And Harrison’s great in it.

Okaaay, lustig waren sie ja auch, die Vorgänger. Aber es waren alles andere als Komödien. Und einen Slapstick-Indy mag ich nicht sehen. Wie immer: abwarten und indische Suppe mit Augen darin löffeln.
