Ulkiges Video, das das Ergebnis eines Studentenprojekts ist. Die Lego-Version von “Inception” gefällt mir direkt besser als der eigentliche Film. Und natürlich nur echt mit Hansi-Hinterzimmer-Button.

Patrick Bolvin hat den Trailer zu „Cars 2“ in Lego nachgebaut. Dazu sollte man explizit noch erwähnen, dass das keine wirkliche Fan-Arbeit ist, sondern Bolvin von Pixar/Disney und Lego dafür engagiert wurde. Trotzdem nett.

Die Ankündigung, dass die Jungs hinter (dem tollen) „Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs“ einen abendfüllenden Lego-Film drehen, hatte ich so am Rande mitbekommen. Jetzt haben sie ihre Pläne für das Teil bekannt gegeben und der Film soll ein „super large scale brick film“ werden. Awesome! Ich liebe Brick-Filme. Die meisten leiden zwar unter einer zu niedrigen Framerate, aber wenn sie toll sind, sind sie richtig toll, zumindest für einen Lego-Nerd wie mich.

We always sparked to the idea that you could make a super large scale brick film. Have you seen those brick films online? There’s a zillion of them. People literally make them in their basements with little Lego mini-figs and they build elaborate sets and they range from being like the most low production value to some of them people have spent years on and they look beautiful and they’re really intricately detailed.

And we kept thinking, gosh there’s got to be a way to take… if somebody wants to make a Lego movie they should make one of those on an enormous scale where you could actually build enormous, beautiful Lego sets and put a camera on the deck at mini-fig eye level and bring the kind of bravado that like the contemporary action-adventure film does, but do it on like this micro-scale. So we always sparked to that idea and it was just about trying to crack the character story to carry that.

I don’t know we’re exactly are going to execute it but I would say the vast majority of the film takes place in an immersive all-Lego environment. So it’s going to star mini-figs and we’ve created these really cool characters and a really nice character story between these mini-figs. And it’s going to take place in a universe that’s made entirely out of Lego to the point where if there’s water or clouds or like a big explosion, that will be made out of animated Legos. And our goal was to make it look like a super charged stop-motion. Something like if Michael Bay kidnapped Henry Selick to make a movie for him.

Nach „Transformers“, „Monopoly“ und weiß nicht was für Toy-Verfilmungen noch anstehen werden, kommt jetzt also endlich die lange überfällige Nachricht eines Lego-Films. It’s about time.

Warner Bros. is building a Lego movie.

The studio and producer Dan Lin have acquired theatrical rights for a motion picture about the timeless toy, and set writers Dan and Kevin Hageman to pen the script.

The live action-CG hybrid is described as a movie set in the world of Lego that centers on the subject of child-like imaginations and examines themes of creativity and teamwork in the manner of “Toy Story.” While the pic will have elements for children, the studio is hoping the film is a four-quadrant play that can also appeal to adults.

In addition to Lin (whose credits include Guy Ritchie’s upcoming “Sherlock Holmes” at Warners), Roy Lee will produce and Stephen Gilchrist will co-produce, while Jill Wilfert will oversee creatively for Lego. Matt Reilly is overseeing for the studio.

Silence of the Lambs

MiniMates nennt sich eine Serie von Lego-ähnlichen Spielfiguren. Bevorzugt werden von der Firma Art Asylum nicht nur Comicfiguren adapiert, sondern auch die Casts berühmter Filme. Neueste Kreation der Serie, in der auch schon Back to the Future, Star Wars und Spider-Man verblockt wurden: Silence of the Lambs.
