Hier der Trailer zu „Flying Swords of Dragon Gate“ von Tsui Hark mit Jet Li. Sieht toll aus! Der Film ist quasi ein Sequel zu Harks 1992er „Dragon Inn“, hier der Plot:

“Flying Sword of Dragon Gate” picks up three years after the infamous Dragon Inn was burnt down in the desert when its innkeeper JADE vanished. A new gang of marauders had taken over: innkeepers by day, and treasure hunters by night. The inn is the rumored location of a lost city buried under the desert and its hidden treasure would only be revealed by a gigantic storm every sixty years. The gang used the inn as a front to locate the lost treasure. The storm is arriving. But the situation becomes more complicated when a pregnant concubine who escaped from the palace came to the inn. The concubine was saved by a mysterious woman LING, and the two fled to the Dragon Inn in hiding. Hot on their trail were the Imperial Assassins led by the powerful eunuch YU, followed by the righteous general ZHAO who was determined to take down Yu to restore order in the palace.

WHOA! Von Wikipedia: „The Raid or Serbuan Maut is an Indonesian martial arts action film directed by Welsh Director Gareth Evans and starring Iko Uwais which is set for a 2012 release. This is the second collaboration of Evans and Uwais after their first action film, Merantau released in 2009. Both movies showcase Indonesian traditional martial art Pencak Silat in their choreography. The fight choreographers of The Raid are Iko Uwais and Yayan Ruhian who also worked together with Iko and Gareth in Merantau. The US release of the film features music by Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park.“

Deep in the heart of Jakarta’s slums lies an impenetrable derelict apartment building which became a safe house for the world’s most dangerous killers and gangsters. The rundown apartment block has been considered untouchable to even the bravest of police. Cloaked under the cover of pre-dawn darkness and silence, an elite SWAT team is tasked with raiding the derelict apartment in order to take down the notorious drug lord that runs it. Tony Leung spielt ein weiteres mal die Hauptrolle, neben Zhang Ziyi und Chang Chen. Das Martial-Arts-Actiondrama erzählt nicht weniger als die “story of martial-arts master Ip Man, the man who trained Bruce Lee.” – Vorfreude! Und mal was anderes von Wong Kar Wai.

Schöner Trailer zu „Yakuza Weapon“ von Tak Sakaguchi und Yûdai Yamaguchi, die schon gemeinsam am Zombie-Martialarts-Schlachtfest „Versus“ gearbeitet hatten.

Schöner Trailer zum chinesischen Vigilante/Martial Arts-Film „Legend of the Fist“ von Andrew Lau, dem Regisseur von „Infernal Affairs“. Sieht gut aus! Hier der Plot:

In 1925, the nation of China is divided by infighting, and Japan has become the most powerful force in Asia. With the city of Shanghai torn in half by international conflict, Club Casablanca has become a hotbed of spies, mobsters, English officials and the Japanese military- all looking to gain control of the country, with little regard for what happens to its citizenry. Into this den of intrigue enters Chen Zhen (Donnie Yen), who has returned to China after fighting alongside the Allied forces in Europe, bringing some dark secrets from his past along with him. During the day, he’s known as “Qi”, and appears to be just another wealthy playboy. But at night, he takes to the street as a masked warrior, determined to subvert the Japanese invasion while becoming entangled with the sultry Kiki (Played by Shu Qi), who has a dangerous secret of her own. Hier der Trailer zu „Bruce Lee, my Brother“, einem Biopic über den Drachen und seine Jugend in Hong Kong. Hier der Plot:

Bruce Lee, My Brother is a dramatic biopic of the eponymous martial arts legend as told by his younger brother, Robert Lee. It revolves around Bruce Lee’s life as a rebellious adolescent in Hong Kong until he sets off for the USA and conquers the world at the age of 18 with only US$100 in his pocket.

His father, a popular Cantonese opera singer who used to tour around the world with his family, Bruce Lee is born in San Francisco in 1940 during their US stop. The Lee family moves back to Hong Kong just months before the Japanese invasion in China and goes through the horrid 3 years and 8 months of Japanese occupation in Hong Kong.

Bruce is introduced to films soon after his birth by appearing in Golden Gate Girl in 1941 as an infant. He shoots to fame at the age of 9 by starring in The Kid with the stage name Lee Xiao-long (literally “Little Dragon”). As a teenager, he is not particularly good at school but is respected as a child actor who has worked in couple of movies.

As a young man, Bruce is something of a rebel who always finds himself engaging in street fights. His favorite pastime is hanging out in Chinese teahouses with his buddies, Kong and Unicorn, also a child actor who co-stars with him and will later appear in Fist of Fury and Way of the Dragon. His recalcitrant way will eventually get him into trouble with the police, especially after numerous ruffles against foreigners in the then British colony.

Trailer zu “Ong Bak 3″ von und mit Tony Jaa. Habe weder Teil eins, noch Teil zwei gesehen, also nicht die geringste Ahnung, ob das jetzt gut oder schlecht aussieht. Müsst ihr mir sagen.

Kurz vor Kinostart nochmal ein neuer Trailer zum Remake von „Karate Kid“ und ich bleibe dabei: Ich mag das, was ich da sehe. Schaut mir tatsächlich wie ein angemessenes Remake aus. Steinigt mich.

Batzman meint: Ich werfe auch gleich einen Stein. Hab den Film gestern gesehen und er ist ein ganz großer Haufen Brontosaurierkacke. Das einzig gute ist Jackie Chan, ansonsten sind die Hauptrollen katastrophal fehlbesetzt und die Entscheidung das Alter der Figur auf Kindergartenalter runterzusetzen lässt die ganze Geschichte zusammenbrechen (an der ansonsten wirklich NICHTS verändert wurde).

Renington meint: Dann schmeiß ich doch gleich mal zurück: „das Alter der Figur auf Kindergartenalter runterzusetzen“. Unsinn. Jayden Smith ist jetzt 12, bei den Dreharbeiten vielleicht 11. Das mag vielleicht einen Hauch zu jung sein, klingt aber aus dem Mund von Batzi, der sich sonst immer darüber beschwert, dass die Darsteller jugendlicher Protagonisten immer zu alt seien, dann doch einigermaßen lustig. Und wenn das das Argument gegen den Film ist, dann bricht vor allem die Kritik daran in sich zusammen. Aber ich muss ihn ja erstmal sehen.

René hatte vor ein paar Tagen schon einen Trailer zum kommenden Ong Bak Massaker rausgehauen, mit dem Hinweis:

Dann setze ich noch einen drauf: Jetzt gibt es noch einen Trailer zu Tony Jaas Ong Bak 3, mit noch mehr “Pew”, “Bam” und “Leckmichamarschdasmusswehgetanhaben!” Szenen! Die Zusammenfassung der Geschichte geht so:

The legend of Ong Bak 3 begins after Tien (Tony Jaa) has lost his fighting skills and his beloved step-father at the Garuda’s Wing cliff from the raid led by Jom Rachan (Saranyu Wonggrajang). Hier der zweite Teaser-Trailer für Ip Man 2. Donnie Yen hatte übrigens neulich bekannt gegeben, für keine weiteren Verfilmungen zur Martial Arts-Legende zur Verfügung zu stehen. Schade eigentlich, denn der zweite Teil sieht ebenso hervorragend aus, wie der erste und eine Trilogie wäre drin gewesen.

Hier ein neuer Trailer zu Tony Jaas „Ong Bak 3“. Der Trailer zeigt ungefähr das selbe wie der erste, nur etwas anders geschnitten und mit ein paar anderen Bildern aus denselben Szenen.

Ich finds geil. Boah. (Hab ich schonmal kürzer geschrieben? Ihr wollt mehr lesen? Okay: Mich hat der erste Ong Bak, als ich den damals gesehen habe, schwer beeindruckt. Normalerweise sind reine Kampffilme für mich eher langweilig, aber der hatte was spezielles, vor allem hatte der eine Art zu kämpfen, wie ich persönlich sie vorher noch nicht in einem Film gesehen habe. Ja, man kann mit Fug und Recht behaupten: Für mich war das sehen von “Ong Bak” genauso beeindruckend wie das sehen von “Story of Ricky”. Jetzt aber mal schön Trailerchen gucken, das verspricht nämlich ähnlich beeindruckend zu werden…Übrigens: Letztes Jahr ist wohl der zweite Ong Bak gekommen und es ist ein bisschen verwirrend, weil der “The Beginning” im Untertitel heisst. Tony Jaa hat wohl einen langen 3-stündigen Martial Arts Film gemacht, der dann aber in zwei Teile aufgesplittet wurde. Oder so. Und nein: Den “zweiten” hab ich nicht gesehen, aber kann man ja noch nachholen…)

Hier der neue Trailer zu M. Night Shyamalans „The Last Airbender“. Ich bin nicht wirklich überzeugt und nach Shyamalans letzten Totalausfällen sowieso eher skeptisch, könnte mir aber gut vorstellen, dass das was werden könnte, weil er das Drehbuch nicht verzapfen musste. Denn inszenieren kann er.

Einer der besten Martial Arts-Filme der letzten Jahre war für mich Ip Man, den ich letztes Jahr auf dem Fantasy Filmfest gesehen habe. Der erzählt die semi-biographisch Geschichte von eben diesem Ip Man, dem ersten Lehrer des Wing Chun und einer seiner Schüler war niemand anderes als Bruce Lee. Und weil obiger Trailer zum zweiten Teil nicht allzuviel zeigt, nach dem Klick noch ein paar Szenen aus dem ersten Teil (Amazon Partnerlink: Ip Man (Special Edition, 2 DVDs)).

Hier der Trailer zu dem Film mit dem äußerst beknackten Titel „The Cup of Tears“. Sieht visuell äußerst spannend aus, so ein bisschen „300“ und „Sin City“ mit Samurai. Und die letzte Szene deutet dann noch Samurai in Space an. Und bei sowas werde ich natürlich hellhörig.

The narrative follows a scorned geisha who creates a magical cup made of tears that causes any man who drinks from it to fall under a stasis of permanent sleep. One night the cup is stolen, setting off a chain of events that threatens civil war amongst the clans.
