Wieviele Buchstaben hat das Alphabet? Ja, und so viele Kurzfilme wird es in der Horror-Anthologie “The ABCs of Death” zu sehen geben. Mit viel versprechenden Episoden unter anderem von Ti West (“The Innkeepers”), Angela Bettis (“Roman”), Xavier Gens (“The Divide”), Yoshihiro Nishimura (“Hell Driver”) und Ben Wheatley (“Kill List”). Der Red-Band-Trailer lockt schon mal die Splatter-Crowd. Wird man wohl schauen müssen.

The ABCs of Death wird eine Horror-Anthologie bestehend aus 26 Kapiteln, für jeden Buchstaben des Alphabets eines. Bislang haben unter anderem die Regisseure Jason Eisener (Hobo With a Shotgun), Nacho Vigalondo (TimeCrimes), Ti West (The House of the Devil), Srdjan Spasojevic (A Serbian Film), Angela Bettis (Roman) und Ben Wheatley (The Kill List) zugesagt, außerdem sind Banjong Pisanthanakun, Adrian Garcia Bogliano, Ernesto Diaz Espinoza, Bruno Forzani und Helene Cattet, Gadi Harel, Thomas Malling, Yoshihiro Nishimura, Simon Rumley, Tak Sakaguchi und Yuji Shimomura, Marcel Sarmiento, Timo Tjahjanto, Andrew Traucki, Jake West und Adam Wingard an Bord. Ich kenne die wenigsten davon, habe jetzt aber auch ihre Filme nicht gegoogelt.
Each director will be assigned a letter from the alphabet that represents a word to act as a springboard for a short. It will be up to each filmmaker to interpret, from accidental deaths to murders committed in cold blood.
Production is slated to begin in June, with completion slated for January — six months, six weeks and six days later. The 25 directors participating are from all over the world, while the 26th helmer will be chosen as part of a global contest to find a new filmmaking talent.
