Pit Bukowski ist ein sympathischer Typ, mit dem wir vor einigen Jahren zum Start von “Dorfpunks” mal einen Filmcheck gedreht haben. Zusammen mit dem Regisseur Till Kleinert und dem Kameramann Martin Hanslmayr wollen sie jetzt den Film “Der Samurai” drehen – als deren Abschlussfilm an der Deutschen Film- und Fernsehakademie Berlin. Zusammen haben sie bereits den mittellangen Film COWBOY gedreht, der den weltweit größten schwullesbischen Filmpreis ‘The Iris Prize’ gewann.

Der Samurai wird ein Thriller und darum soll gehen: Ein junger Dorfpolizist wird dazu aufgerufen, seine Gemeinde und seinen Verstand gegen den Wahnsinn zu verteidigen. Genauer gesagt, gegen einen Fremden im Frauenkleid, der mit einem Samuraischwert bewaffnet eine Spur der Verwüstung durch den Ort zieht. Eine Geschichte von Angst, Verführung, Kontrollverlust und Befreiung.

Hier ein neuer Trailer zu Snowtown, einem australischen Serienkillerfilm basierend auf wahren Begebenheiten (gedreht an den tatsächlichen Tatorten der Snowtown Murders). Der Film macht seit rund einem Jahr seine runden auf Festivals, ist in Australien schon auf DVD raus und gehört zu meinen Top 5-Lieblingsfilmen des vergangenen Jahres. Jetzt kriegt er doch nochmal ‘nen Kino-Release in den USA, wann der Film hierzulande zu sehen sein wird, weiß ich nicht, aber man hat ja andere Möglichkeiten.

„American Horror Story“ wird eine neue Serie von den Machern von „Glee“ und soll ein „psychosexual thriller“ werden über eine Familie in einem Geisterhaus. Sieht alles sehr interessant aus, Poster oben, Trailer unten.

They’ve got plenty of family problems, but their newest one is that they have moved into a straight-up haunted house. And it’s not pleasantly haunted by friendly ghosts that look like Casper, either. It’s haunted by demon-y looking things, and it may possibly cause you to hallucinate, and it has a history of not just spooking but downright … well, devouring the people who live in it.

Hier der Trailer zu Steven Soderberghs Haywire, einem Actionthriller mit Channing Tatum, Ewan McGregor, Michael Fassbender, Antonio Banderas, Bill Paxton, Michael Douglas und Michael Angarano. Damit hat der Mann zwei ausgesprochen mainstreamige Blockbuster am Start, die beide gut (der hier) bis sehr gut (Contagion) aussehen und das Design des Posters für Haywire ist für einen Mainstream-Film fast schon experimentell und toll. Ich bin gespannt, was bei beiden am Ende herauskommt, hier der Plot:

Toller Trailer zum Thriller „Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy“ mit Gary Oldman, Colin Firth, Tom Hardy, Mark Strong, Ciarán Hinds, Stephen Graham und John Hurt nach John le Carrés Agenten-Klassiker. Regie führte Tomas Alfredson, der 2008 mit „Let the right one in“ einen der besten Filme des Jahres ablieferte. Man darf die Erwartungen also durchaus nach oben schrauben.

MGM wird den 1983er Hacker-Thriller „War Games“ neu verfilmen, Seth Gordon (King of Kong, Horrible Bosses) wird Regie führen. Mal abgesehen davon, dass MGM einen „Reboot“ nennt, was eigentlich ein Remake ist (und nichts mit dem Direct-to-DVD-Film Wargames 2 zu tun hat, der bereits ein Remake war), halte ich die Idee nach wie vor nicht für ganz doof, schließlich schaffen es Hacker im Jahr 2011 mittlerweile regelmäßig in die Mainstream-Nachrichten und sogar meine Mutti hat bereits von Anonymous gehört. LulzSec muss ich ihr noch beibringen.

Trailer zum Politthriller “The Whistleblower” mit Rachel Weisz, Vanessa Redgrave, Monica Bellucci und David Strathairn. Weisz hängt sich wohl ziemlich rein, aber der Trailer macht einen sehr unscheinbaren und austauschbaren Eindruck, finde ich.

Killer. Ich kenne das schwedische Original noch nicht, werde ich mir aber sicher vor dem Kinostart am 29. Dezember noch anschauen.

Hier der neue Trailer zum australischen Serienkillerfilm „Snowtown“, der auf den tatsächlichen Ereignissen um die Snowtown Murderers basiert: „The Snowtown murders, also known as the Bodies in Barrels murders, were the murders of 12 people in South Australia, Australia between August 1992 and May 1999. The crimes were uncovered when the remains of eight victims were found in barrels of acid located in a rented former bank building in Snowtown, South Australia on 20 May 1999.“ Sieht wahnsinnig gut aus.

The shadow of the Snowtown murders still looms large, raising questions about the violence that can explode out of forgotten communities in Australian society. 16-year-old Jamie is a kid from the northern suburbs who desperately needs a father figure. What he gets instead is John Bunting, a charismatic figure who condenses all the hatred and grievance in our culture and then unleashes it in a cold fury. Justin Kurzel’s debut feature marks the arrival of a major filmmaking talent.

He has made a film as starkly confronting as it is beautifully controlled, with consistently fine performances from a local cast of mainly first-time actors.
